Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how DentScanner ("we," "us," or "our") handles information when you use the DentScanner mobile app or visit dentscanner.com. DentScanner does not require an account, name, or email address to use the app.

What DentScanner does not collect

The scanner uses your screen as a light board. It does not use the camera, take photographs, record video, analyze vehicle images, or upload scans. Your vehicle and panel reflections stay outside the app.

Information that is processed

App access

The app and RevenueCat process a randomly generated app user identifier, product and store identifiers, entitlement status, transaction dates, and related receipt-derived information so the app can determine available features and resolve access problems.

App analytics

In production, DentScanner uses PostHog to understand app reliability and feature use. Events may include opening the app or board, changing a pattern, and viewing app screens. These events can include pseudonymous identifiers and technical details such as app version, device type, operating system, and event time. We do not use this information for third-party advertising.

Website data

Our hosting provider may receive standard request information such as IP address, browser type, requested page, and request time for delivery, security, and diagnostics. When website analytics is enabled, PostHog also processes page views, interactions, store-badge clicks, and page language. The website configures PostHog with in-memory persistence rather than analytics cookies.

Support communications

If you email us, we receive your email address, message, and anything else you choose to send. Please do not send unnecessary sensitive information.

How we use information

• Provide app features and troubleshoot access.
• Operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the app and website.
• Measure feature performance and respond to support requests.
• Comply with law, store rules, and enforceable legal requests.

Service providers and stores

We disclose information only as needed to the following categories:

• RevenueCat, for entitlement status and app access. See RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.
• PostHog, for product analytics and diagnostics. See PostHog's Privacy Notice.
• Apple and Google, which operate the app stores under their own privacy policies.
• Hosting and infrastructure providers, which deliver and protect the website and related services.
• Authorities or other parties when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect rights and safety, or respond to valid legal process.

We do not sell personal information or use it for third-party advertising.

Retention and deletion

We retain information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes above, including access, support, security, and legal obligations. Apple, Google, RevenueCat, PostHog, and hosting providers apply their own retention practices. You may contact us to request access, correction, or deletion where applicable. Because the app uses random identifiers instead of an account, we may be unable to associate a privacy request with a specific analytics or access record without additional information that verifies the request.

Your choices

Platform privacy controls may limit certain device analytics. For privacy requests or questions, contact us at fazulk@gmail.com.

International processing

Service providers may process information in countries other than yours. Where required, they use contractual or other safeguards for international transfers.

Children

DentScanner is a vehicle-inspection utility and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Contact us if you believe a child has provided personal information.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app, website, or legal requirements change. We will post the updated policy here and revise its effective date.
